My wife is attending a convention this week in Anaheim. She loves Disneyland. I want to make her happy. So I'm going along for the whole trip so we can spend one day in Disneyland. But I need to figure out what to do with the rest of my time there (by myself while wife is at her convention). The hotel is right next to Disneyland. I need geeky or nature-loving activities that can reasonably be reached via Lyft. [more inside]

We're taking our six and four year old kids to Disneyland in California early July. We'll be there Saturday July 7 and Sunday July 8; unfortunately those dates can't be moved, though we could conceivably go another night the next week too if for some reason the pricing structure made that make sense. I've been to both Disneyland and Disney World, but not for a decade or more. What do we need to know? [more inside]

I've been trying to figure out the best way to take a side trip from Disneyland to see a Dodger game this summer, but I am at a loss. I know there's a train, but the train stops around 10pm, so that precludes night games. I can't imagine a taxi from Anaheim to Chavez Ravine would be even remotely affordable. LA Mefites, any ideas?

I'm landing at LAX tomorrow (Monday) at around 4 p.m. I'm heading to a hotel very close to Disneyland in Anaheim. My plan (to save time and discomfort) is to take a cab, but I sort of realized today that Anaheim is way the hell on the other side of town from the airport. Given that the cab ride is likely to cost $100 or so, am I going to have any trouble finding a cabbie to take me all the way to Anaheim? What about the return trip, when I leave my hotel around lunchtime on Thursday? Bonus question: Will I be able to pay with a credit card? (In case you're curious, I get reimbursed for the cab ride, so comfort and speed of service is more important to me than saving some $$$ getting crammed into a shuttle bus.)

Where should I take the kids before going to Disneyland? Our family of four, including a tween and young teen are scheduled to arrive in Anaheim on a Saturday about noon, and we are going to the park the following day. What can we do the afternoon and evening of arrival? Huntington beach? I don't want to wear anyone out the first night.

I am trying to book a room for myself and my daughter at the Grand Californian at Disneyland Anaheim for 2 nights in January - Disney's own booking site suggests there are no rooms whatsoever available - does anyone know an alternative/better way to book any remaining rooms there?
