Travel deals from Orlando to London?

Two adults who never been to Europe will be traveling from Orlando, Florida to London in early September of 2024. Tips and suggestions for finding flight deals requested, details inside!

The dates are pretty hardwired, need to be in Portsmouth UK by a certain date, hoping to come into London for a few days before that to explore.

I have a subscription to Going.com, which is looking for Orlando to London alerts, roundtrip.

Also keeping an eye on flights from Norse Atlantic Airways which has been recommended by others.

Any other booking service service/website/whatever we should be keeping an eye on? Any other tips in terms of finding deals? Is there a certain time to be looking? Something other than Going.com?

Kayak.com has been useful for me. I check that, Expedia, and also the specific airlines on that route because I have never found the one travel tool to rule them all. Perhaps that is Going.com. Sounds like a great trip; have fun and try to avoid hotel rooms in London without windows. They exist in Stockholm too, no kidding. Good luck!

I use Google Flights for this kind of thing.

Note: No matter what tool you use to find flights, you almost always want to buy the flight directly from the airline. Don't buy a ticket through Expedia, Kayak, or whoever, find the lowest fare and then go to Norse Atlantic, TAP Air Portugal, or whoever's actual website, and buy it there.

It's almost always the same price (or very close to it, at least), and it's far easier to deal directly with the airline if something goes wrong or you need to modify your reservation.

Once in a while, you'll find a much cheaper option through a third-party agency. In that case, it may be worth it to buy through them instead of through the airline. But just understand that the airline can't and won't do anything to your reservation, everything has to go through the third-party agency.

Skyscanner.net is the typical recommendation in the UK. It can break your journey up into multiple hops.

My flight searching tip is to use google flights BUT DO NOT SELECT A DESTINATION. Using Orlando as your Origin, select only your dates and click on the map to "Explore Destinations" - scroll across the pond and compare prices to various cities. The tab title will be "Orlando to anywhere"

Keeping in mind that flights within Europe can be inexpensive - we flew Sevilla to Marseille one way for $34 each (no checked bags). Use a VPN and set your location to match the flight origin to book these flights - anecdotally we've seen better prices this way.

YMMV, but some folks swear by using credit card perks to help pay for travel.

I would suggest getting travel insurance.

Flying within Europe can be relatively inexpensive on low cost carriers. So one approach may be to expand the possible European cities you are willing to fly into/out of, and then fly to London. A caveat though is that this may not be cost effective if you are taking a lot of luggage.
